Biography of Virginia M. Amato

Born and raised in Wallace , Idaho , Virginia received her Bachelor of Arts in Education from Eastern Washington University in 1982 and continued on to the University of Idaho and received my Master of Science in 1984.  

Virginia spent the next few years working hard, playing hard, coaching and umpiring softball, including two (2) national tournaments.

In 1991, Virginia entered Gonzaga University School of Law and completed her Juris Doctorate.  From 1994 to 1996, Virginia was in private practice in Spokane , working as a criminal defense attorney and estate planner. 

In 1996, Virginia joined the City of Spokane Prosecutor ís office and continued there until 1998 when she became the Municipal Prosecutor for the City of Pasco. Virginia worked in Pasco until 2002, when she moved across the mountains to become a prosecutor in Auburn , then went on to work as a Hearing Examiner for the Department of Licensing. 

 
Late in 2003, Virginia joined the Law Office of James Newton in Kent where she defended persons charged with misdemeanors and gross misdemeanor crimes such as Driving Under the Influence (DUI), Domestic Violence Offenses, Assault, Harassment, Malicious Mischief, Theft, Trespassing, and Disorderly Conduct, to name a few.  

In June of 2008, Virginia opened the Law Office of Virginia M. Amato, PLLC, a firm dedicated to defending persons accused of misdemeanors and gross misdemeanor offenses in Washington
